Machan Taylor is a lifelong artist whose four-decade career has taken her from world tours and major recordings to creative mentorship and teaching. A singer, songwriter, and performer, she has shared the stage with artists including Sting, Pink Floyd, Pat Benatar, George Benson, Gov’t Mule and more, and was the lead vocalist for the Grammy-nominated group Hiroshima. Her solo album Machan debuted #35 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts, and her compositions have appeared on television and in award-winning films.
Equally at home in the classroom as on the stage, Machan is a NCVS Certified Vocologist and sought-after voice teacher who helps singers develop healthy and authentic artistry. She holds a Master’s Degree in Music Theory and Composition from New York University. She served as Vocal Coach and Associate Producer for Vera Farmiga’s film Higher Ground and is currently an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. She continues to create, teach, and inspire as a performer and now as an author. She hopes to have another dog someday.
